受験資格 特になし
受験内容 ２００６年は７月と１２月。
但し、１級は１２月検定のみの実施。
５級は、公開会場では７月検定のみの実施。

コメント 「過去にまなび　未来をひらく」をテーマに、暗記のみにとらわれず、祖先の歩んできた道を学問として振り返るための資格として毎年多くの人が受験している。1級から5級まであり、小学校終了程度から学校での学習範囲にとどまらず幅広い知識が問われる1級まで、自分にあったレベルで受験できる。
入試等で選考基準に盛り込んでいる大学も多い。また大学によっては資格取得が単位履修の代わりになるところもある。
合格の目安は正解率60パーセント。1級になると合格率は１割程度で、なかなかの難関資格となっている。
