受験資格 制限なし
受験内容 ◇1次試験
1. 読解問題など
2. リスニング
受験地 全国各地（約400箇所）で実施
受験日程 ◇1次試験・・・・1月、6月、10月の中旬頃

コメント 英検は、通産で７千万人以上が受験したことがある超メジャー資格。それだけに相応の級を持っていれば、入試や採用試験で選考優遇になる企業や学校は多い。受験生の年齢の幅も広く、平成１６年度の最年少受験者は３歳、最年長は８１歳とまさに老若男女の検定資格だ。
4級は基礎レベルの英語力が必要で、目安は中学中級程度。必要単語数約1,300。合格率は7割前後。
